Mark A. Hruska is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972 and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1975. Before relocating to Florida in 1987, he practiced at a noted Pittsburgh law firm for over ten years conducting numerous civil trials in the areas of personal injury, premises liability and medical malpractice. Mr. Hruska joined the Schwartz Law Group (f/k/a Schwartz & Horwitz) in 2005 after a successful solo law practice and prior law firm partnership specializing in defense of SCUBA-related wrongful death, professional negligence and products liability claims. Mr. Hruska has served as both lead and supervisory trial and appellate counsel in many commercial liability, wrongful death and insurance coverage/defense litigation cases throughout the country for over thirty years.

Mark has handled litigation not only in many jurisdictions around the United States but in foreign countries as well. He has served with distinction for many years as primary advisory legal counsel to the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) and holds a worldwide reputation in the scuba diving industry, assisting in risk management of dive instructors as well as dive shops and vessel operators along with litigation management for PADI claims wherever they arise. Mr. Hruska has been a lecturer at the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) conference; the worldwide trade show for the diving industry.  He is also a contributing author to PADI Training Manuals.

Mr. Hruska is a member of the trial bar in all Florida State and Federal Courts, the Florida Bar Association, and a former member of the Board of Governors for the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association. Through special counsel admissions, Mr. Hruska has appeared in state or federal trials in Hawaii, California, Oregon, Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and the Virgin Islands with litigation claims management in the Orient as well. He has also been a featured attorney on Court TV/NBC Dateline for scuba cases. He was the receipient of the  International Professional Association of Diving Instructors Appreciation Award for service to the dive industry. Apart from his active civil litigation practice, Mr. Hruska also serves as a Certified Civil Circuit and County Mediator.

Mark is an avid diver and underwater photographer.  A Pittsburgh native, he and his wife, Debra reside in Boca Raton.
